October

At Foliotek, we work hard to provide the best assessment and portfolio software possible.  To do that, we make changes every week.  Sometimes we fix things that don't work, other times we release new features to improve your experience.  Below you will find a description of the changes we have made this month.

 

10.30.2017

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • Foliotek now allows users to display badges from Acclaim on the ID page and in an ePortfolio.

What we fixed

These issues were fixed this past week:

  • There were several places in Assessment Plus where the 'x' to close the page wasn't working.
  • The social media button to add a link to your Facebook account to your ID page was broken.
  • Some expired Presentation users were having difficulty when trying to extend their accounts.

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • We completed the first phase in our efforts to improve Foliotek for users with disabilities.  While you won't notice anything yet, we just wanted you to know we are making progress.

What we fixed

These issues were fixed this past week:

  • It was possible for students to submit activities without any work in them.  We have now added a warning message if a student attempts to submit an activity without work in it.

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • Unfortunately, there is nothing new this week.

What we fixed

These issues were fixed this past week:

  • Private communities were having issues with cookies when students attempted to view them using Safari on a Mac.
  • We made some improvements to the Members filter option for moderators using Program Content.

Members Filter Options

  • In IE11, the share buttons were misaligned on the ePortfolio list page.
  • For some evaluations in Assessment Plus, deactivated forms were not being made available when scoring evaluations that captured data prior to the form being deactivated.

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • We made some upgrades to the way reports function for community moderators.

What we fixed

These issues were fixed this past week:

  • The printable version of the 'by Topic' view of a student's portfolio has been fixed.
  • The sharing buttons for a portfolio on the portfolio list page would get misaligned if the portfolio was submittable for evaluation.
  • If a user shared a portfolio in a community from inside the portfolio editor, it would share the portfolio in every community the user was a member of.
  • The system was not informing collaborative users that projects shared in a portfolio are not collaborative and can only be edited by the project owner.
  • Improvements were made to the way Foliotek handles forgotten password requests.
  • Users were not able to export ePortfolios.
  • Uploading files into a portfolio from inside the portfolio editor was not possible if Foliotek was opened inside another application.
  • The Unsubmitted External Form report was not pulling in all unsubmitted forms.
  • Some Scoring Guide reports were not exporting to PDF.
  • If a user joined a community from the Communities page, the community would be displayed without a name or image until the page was refreshed.
  • Students were not able to see some evaluations in the My Assessments area of their presentation account.
  • The 'download selected' option in the Presentation Files area will now only download the files that have been selected, rather than all files in the Files area.

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • Sorry...nothing new this week.

What we fixed

These issues were fixed this past week:

  • Text placed on a project page was extending outside the visible area and getting cut off.
  • Tweaks were made to the background color picker, fonts, and template selector on the ID page.
  • The initialization reminder emails, sent to students who need to complete the registration process, were sending incorrect information.
  • Administrators who attempted to edit a student's Profile Field questions were having to enter the information twice in order for it to be saved.
  • Images uploaded to Presentation that were taken vertically on a phone or with a camera were not being properly rotated on the ID page, in portfolios, in projects, or in the files area.
  • Duplicating a Presentation portfolio was causing it to be listed as a collaborative portfolio until the page was refreshed.
  • Moderators are no longer required to provide a description when creating a new community.
  • Integration with Dropbox is no longer available when uploading files in Foliotek Assessment Plus.

What we're working on

Watch for these items to be released in the next few weeks:

  • Soon, community moderators will only see reports that are relevant to what their students are doing in the community.  Portfolio reports will only be available if students can create portfolios from a template.  Project reports will only be available if a project template is available to the students.  This will reduce confusion and clean up the Reports tab for moderators.
