Presentation   2015   October

October

At Foliotek, we try hard to provide the best assessment and portfolio software possible.  To do that, we make changes every week.  Sometimes we fix things that don't work, other times we release new features to improve your experience.  Below you will find a list and description of the changes we have made this month.

10.26.2015

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • Evaluations will now automatically save the unit score and comments.

What we fixed

Several issues were fixed this past week:

  • The option for 'Number of Files Uploaded' on the Student Activity report had disappeared.  It is now back in the options list.
  • The Faculty Activity report can now be run with only Email Address selected.
  • Some bulleted lists on Standards weren't being displayed when previewing the Standards list, the bullets now work.
  • When adding documents to a Project, the remove button sometimes covered other action buttons for the file.  The remove button has been placed on the other side of the document.
  • The system to check for invalid URLs when adding links to a Project was missing some obviously invalid web addresses.  It will now catch them and alert the user that the URL is incorrect.
  • Duplicating a portfolio on the Portfolio list page was creating the duplicate, but the 'Duplicating' spinner was not disappearing.  This now works as it should.
  • In Firefox, it was not possible to scroll through all the portfolios shared in a community.  This defect has been corrected.

What we're working on

Watch for these items to be released in the next few weeks:

  • The process for editing and creating Presentation content templates used in communities is being improved.  It will be easier to create new templates and make changes to those that are already in use.

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • The Faculty Activity report now has an option to include faculty email addresses as a field in the report.
  • The Student Activity report now has an option to include the External User ID for students.

What we fixed

Several issues were fixed this past week:

  • The Scoring Rates, Pass Rates, and Comparative Analysis reports were experiencing some errors when using certain report parameters.  These error have been corrected.
  • An annoyance was corrected when viewing text-only quesitons on the Portfolio Form report.
  • The 'Files' tab had mistakenly been renamed 'Filestab', the old name has returned.
  • The program/group filter when selecting students to place in an evaluation was not limiting the choices to those in the same program as the scoring guide and the 'remove' button for taking faculty and students off an evaluation was not functioning.  Both of these issues have been fixed.
  • The button for sharing your ID Page on LinkedIn was unable to connect to LinkedIn, that service has been restored.
  • The description box in the ID Page editor was mistakenly showing some HTML code.  Not anymore!
  • The Link option on the ID Page was leaving a hole in the text when it was turned on and left blank.
  • Projects used inside portfolios were experiencing some issues when opened.  These issues have been corrected.

10.12.2015

What's new

We released some new features and upgrades this week:

  • When students share elements with each other for peer review, the reviewer will now be able to attach documents to their comments and notify their peer by email that they have commented on the element.
  • On the Portfolio Form report, the text-only questions are now hidden by default.  A 'show text questions' link is available to display them, if you need to see the answers to text-only questions.
  • A notification has been added to the sign in page to alert users who attempt to type a password while the caps lock is on.

What we fixed

Several issues were fixed this past week:

  • Some scoring guide previews were showing too many units.  These extra units have been removed.
  • On the Student Activity report, the General Activity and Element Activity options listed the student names differently.  Now all names in both reports list the students first name, then last name.
  • There was a small typo in the Report Tools for the Scoring Rates, Pass Rates, and Comparative Analysis reports.  PDF is now capitalized.
  • An error was discovered in the way evaluations were saving expectation scores that used radio buttons.  The good news is that no data was compromised while the error existed.  This issue has been corrected.
  • Some faculty accounts had incorrectly been given expiration dates, these types of accounts never expire.  These accounts have been corrected.
